KRONOS ENTERPRISE SCHEDULER ADDS WEBSPHERE 4.0 SUPPORT

Services (ICS) today announced the latest in a series of improvements
to Kronos Enterprise Scheduler, a full-featured job scheduling system
written for the Enterprise Java (J2EE) environment.
In a continuing effort to support the widest range of J2EE-certified
application servers, Kronos Enterprise Scheduler 3.30 adds support
for IBM WebSphere 4.0. This announcement comes close on the heels
of the introduction of support for Macromedia JRun 3.1, Enterprise
Edition, and the latest versions of the jBoss application server and
Tomcat webserver. "Kronos Enterprise Scheduler is a J2EE-compliant
application, and as such should run on any J2EE-certified application
server," explained Dale V. Georg, Product Manager. "But one of our
goals is to add as many app servers into our official test suite as
possible. Which servers we test against is primarily driven by
customer request."
Another change in Version 3.30 is an enhancement to a feature
introduced in Version 3.10, namely Result File Tracking. With Result
File Tracking, files generated by a job execution on a remote machine
can be viewed by users at their workstations. For example, a job might
generate a series of PDF reports, which a user could then view via
the Job Monitor. In Version 3.10, however, the files had to be available
via a network share. Version 3.30 removes this restriction by allowing for
a behind-the-scenes download of the files to the user’s workstation.
