Riksgäldskontoret Selects Kronos Enterprise Scheduler

Services (ICS), today announced that Riksgäldskontoret,
plans to use Kronos Enterprise Scheduler to schedule, execute, and
monitor batch jobs such as invoicing. These batch jobs will each
consist of several tasks where both execution of Enterprise JavaBeans
(EJBs) and operating system commands will be necessary. Kronos
Enterprise Scheduler is well-suited to this, as it defines tasks as a
single unit of work, with a job defined as a collection of tasks.
Additionally, Kronos Enterprise Scheduler integrates well with existing
J2EE/EJB applications, allowing tasks to call EJBs without requiring
those EJBs to be modified. "We were looking for a job monitor that
could be integrated with our Java/EJB/Weblogic environment. Out of the
products we looked at, we especially liked Kronos’ concept of jobs and
tasks," explains the Deputy Head of Cash Management, Tommy Widell.
Another requirement for Riksgäldskontoret was the need to keep
track of which files have been produced by a job. ICS worked with
Riksgäldskontoret to extend the Kronos Enterprise Scheduler functional
ity, and this feature is now available as part of the product."For us
it was important to choose a product that could be modified to suit
our needs and allow us to work with a cooperative customer support
organization," said Widell.

About Riksgäldskontoret
The Swedish National Debt Office is a government authority that
administers the borrowing activities on behalf of the state and is
responsible for the management of the central government debt. The
office issues guarantees and provides loans on behalf of the state
