NJ Teacher Certification Information System Contract AWARDED to ICS
Paramus, NJ - May, 2003 - Indus Consultancy
Services (ICS) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded
the New Jersey Teacher Certification Information System
Contract. The Office of Licensure and Credentials, an agency
within the New Jersey Department of Education has selected ICS
to analyze, design, develop and implement a browser based
Teacher Certification Information System, which shall be used
to track and manage teacher certification applications in the
State of New Jersey as well as other functions performed by the
Teacher Certification Office.
The system will allow all present and prospective educators,
who wish to teach in NJ schools to apply via the internet for
teacher licenses and other services such as name change on
certificates, and to request duplicate certificates. Various
staff of the Office of Licensure & credentials (Intake staff,
examiners, administrators) will be provided with browser based
functionality to complete the processing of applications
received from the applicants. The application is expected to
interface with ETS to receive test scores, NASDTEC to obtain
information regarding revoked certificates, Criminal records
database etc.
Overall the Teacher Certification Information System will
support and streamline the agencies business processes,
process applications and fees, provide assistance to applicants
and pre-screen candidates, perform document management,
facilitate process flows, and integrate the functions of the
existing computer systems into a single relational database
management system. The new system will also minimize data entry
by Office personnel by enabling applicants to apply for
certification and check status over the Web, and through the
use of imaging.

technology, Sun App Server, Oracle DBMS and Filenet Imaging
solution. We are very excited about the opportunity to be part
of this project and help NJ DOE to create the new system".
Earlier, ICS had worked on the All Claims Database System Contract
for the Office of Insurance Fraud Prosecutor, Division of Criminal Justice,
NJ and the Case Organization Utilization Reporting & Tracking System (COURTS)
Contract for the New Jersey Department of Labor, which won the prestigious
NASIRE AWARD.
